1. 7. 2025 - Last week Nicola and Michal, students of Masaryk University, Department of Biochemistry, defended their bachelor theses, which they prepared under the supervision of Jana and Filip at our department. Congratulations both of them and good luck in the state exams!
30. 6. 2025 - Last week we celebrated Denisa's successful defense and said goodbye to her. We wish Denisa all the best in her future endeavours and we look forward to seeing her in the future!
25. 6. 2025 - Congratulations to Denisa on successful defense of her PhD thesis entitled "Highly sensitive analysis of glycoproteins by new labels for capillary electrophoresis coupled with fluorescence detection and/or mass spectrometry". Great job, Deni, we are very proud of you!
23. 6. 2025 - Recently Jakub, a master student at the University of Pardubice, successfully passed the state final exam and defended his diploma thesis, on which he partially collaborated with Denisa and Jana from our department. Jakub also received Rector's Student Prize II. degree for his diploma thesis. Congratulations, Jakub!
23. 6. 2025 - Last week four group members attended the 54th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations & Related Techniques (HPLC 2025) conference in Bruges, Belgium. Jana, Jiri, Pavel, and Josef contributed to the scientific program and presented their work by poster presentations.
12. 6. 2025 - Yesterday we visited the group of Jan Tkac at the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava and we discussed our current V4+Korea project as well as the possible future collaboration.
6. 6. 2025 - Filip joined the CE Discussion Group Meeting at Lab Technology/Analytical Solutions in Ede, the Netherlands. He gave a talk on the development and applications of markers of isoelectric point, which are the main commercial products of our department. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in our pI markers !
4. 6. 2025 - Jana attended the 41st International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis (MSB 2025) in Tempe, AZ, USA. She presented our work on increasing detection sensitivity of capillary electrophoresis-based analysis of fluorescently labeled glycans.
12. 5. 2025 - Last week Zuzka, Dana, Anička and Jirka attended the 41st Informal Meeting on Mass Spectrometry (IMMS 2025) in Fiera di Primiero, Italy. They presented their work in the form of poster presentations and enjoyed the spring weather in the Dolomites.
30. 4. 2025 - We celebrated Richard's birthday yesterday. We all hope that he will enjoy a trip to the Lomnica Peak, the second highest peak in the High Tatras in Slovakia. Happy B-day, Richard!
26. 3. 2025 - This month, we welcomed Jakub Mavrev, a master's student from the University of Pardubice, who is working on his diploma thesis focused on the analysis of labeled oligosaccharides by CE-MS. We wish him the best of luck for his thesis defense and his future endeavours.
3. 3. 2025 - Big congratulations to Pavlína from our research group for the Metrohm 2025 Award 👏 . Many thanks to Metrohm CZ and the committee for recognizing her work on the development and application of isoelectric point markers for isoelectric focusing methods.
5. 2. 2025 - Congratulations to Pavlína on passing the state doctoral exam at the Department of Chemistry of Masaryk University.
31. 1. 2025 - This week Denisa and Pavlína attended the regular conference of PhD students at the Department of Chemistry of Masaryk University.
27. 1. 2025 - With the new year we also welcomed our new colleague Eliška, who will start her PhD study at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University, under the supervision of Jana Lavická and Juraj Lenčo. Her work is focused on qualitative analysis of protein glycosylation by capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.

29. 12. 2024 - The end of the year in our department was marked by a Christmas quiz organized by Zuzka, a Christmas lunch, and a visit to the Christmas market in the Brno city center. We enjoyed all of them :-).

We wish all our friends, collaborators, and followers a Happy New Year!
23. 12. 2024 - We said goodbye to Marcelina. She spent three months with us and worked with Filip, Denisa and Jana to improve the analysis of human milk oligosaccharides using electrophoretic methods with laser-induced fluorescence and mass spectrometry detection. We hope she enjoyed her time in Brno and that we'll meet in Krakow or somewhere else again.
11. 11. 2024 - Last Friday, our department participated in the Open Doors Week of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Filip and Jozef presented part of our research focused on the development of a portable liquid chromatograph and isoelectric point markers used in the analysis of proteins and bioparticles.
29. 10. 2024 - Last week we enjoyed lunch time with our favourite Cheese Fondue.
18. 10. 2024 - Congratulations to Pavlína on receiving the CE Pharm Next-Gen Award 2024. This award was combined with an invitation to the CE Pharm 2024 conference held in Costa Mesa, CA, USA, where Pavlína presented a lecture on "Capillary isoelectric focusing of simple liposomal models".
30. 9. 2024 - We welcome Marcelina Rusin, a PhD student from Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, who has joined our group for a three-month research stay. She will continue her PhD studies on the analysis of oligosaccharides from human breast milk by capillary electrophoresis.
26. 9. 2024 - Congratulations to Denisa for winning the "Best Oral Presentation Award" (young scientists) at the 28th International Symposium on Separation Sciences (ISSS 2024) in Messina, Italy.
9. 9. 2024 - Last weekend we took part in the Science and Technology Festival, which took place at the BVV Trade Fairs Brno (6. - 8. 9. 2024).
