Jiří Šalplachta graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, Brno
University of Technology, in 2001. In the same year he joined the
Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. In
2008, he completed his Ph.D. studies at Faculty of Agronomy, Mendel
University in Brno. His research interests have focused on the
analysis of microorganisms by MALDI mass spectrometry and by
combination of electrophoretic techniques and mass spectrometry,
protein analysis using separation techniques (electrophoretic
techniques, liquid chromatography) and mass spectrometry and on the
development of sample preparation strategies for analysis of proteins
and microorganisms in complex sample matrices.
